"Three weeks ago I went for a consultation with Dr. Aspen Dawson. I have suffered from Graves Disease for the past year. The Graves affected my whole way of living. I was at the point of not even stepping out my door. My body did not feel like mine anymore and I could not control it, I had no energy to do the everyday task much less anything else.
I could deal with most of the things it did to me but my eyes were the worse. I would joke about looking like my Puggle but inside it was a torture. My neck had become almost too stiff to move and I was having frequent headaches. I lost all control over my legs and had many falls because of weak muscles. Over the past year I could not remember what a "good nights sleep" was. My hair was falling out by the handfuls and my skin and nails were in terrible condition. My fiance was a great support but I know how even my mood had changed, I didn't even want to be around myself.
During this time I had been on different thyroid medications, spent Easter weekend in the hospital and the radioactive iodine treatment. When I went to Dr. Aspen Dawson I was still on 4 medications. Since my treatments I only take 1 out of the 4 medications and even my blood pressure and pulse rate have been normal. I now have hope and see a major improvement in myself.
